Bagri is the first licensed Slow Food restaurant in Sofia. It opened its doors in 2015 and represents a new concept of locally grown ingredients offering a more healthy alternative to other mainstream establishments. It always has a variety of dishes prepared with local seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the owners of the restaurant. They include traditional and creative dishes. The slow food has been gaining more and more popularity in Sofia recently.

Slow Food

When in the year 1986 the Italian journalist and activist Carlo Petrini learned that there would be a new Macdonald’s restaurant opening in Rome, close to the Spanish square, he decided to oppose it. This is how he creates the Slow food movement. Its aims are keeping the local traditions, encouraging breeding local seeds, farm cultures and animals and their conservation in presidiums – projects of the Slow food movement made in support of the local communities.
